Czech Brass Butterfly Brooch with Multi-Color Glass Rhinestones and Pearls  - Signed

Beautiful Condition.

Made in Czech jewelry played an important role in the history of costume jewelry. It was glass center of Gablonz, at the end of the Victorian Era, that Austrian jeweler Daniel Swarovski introduced the first cut-glass crystals.

In 1892 Swarovski patented a mechanical glass cutter so his crystals could be produced to meet the high demand. At the beginning of the 20th century a pioneered technique for replicating the look of pearls; pearls into beads, which were then shaped and polished until they resembled the real thing.

As early as the 1920's the use of brass filigreed setting, held a handful of singular glass stones, as with this piece.

A wonderful addition to your collection.
